The prefix wiki- is everywhere in the online world.

All Internet users will undoubtedly have come across a multitude of words starting with wiki-. In fact, these words have become so ubiquitous, they are now part of our offline vernacular. For example, who hasn’t heard of Wikipedia?

Here at the Wikiverse, we think there is a lot more to know and a lot more we should know about the organisation from where we source and store a substantial amount of human knowledge. And if you have clicked on our site, it seems you too are an inquisitive and tech-savvy netizen as well.

We will venture through questions such as:

  • How did Wikipedia become the world’s largest collection of human knowledge within the space of twelve years?
  • Who are these Wikipedians who volunteer their time freely to edit and add information to the online encyclopedia?
  • What are the advantages and challenges posed by this rise of the wiki- universe?

Explore the Wikiverse with us for a greater understanding of and appreciation for the future of knowledge sharing and creation.
